Raffle Items
The Desert Bluegrass Association (DBA) would like to ask you to donate an item or gift certificate to a raffle to
be held on October 25, 2009 at the 10th Annual Tucson Bluegrass Festival. The DBA will ask businesses and individuals to contribute
“music related” items which the DBA will raffle at the festival. Donations of musical instruments are welcomed. Items will not be
raffled individually but will be included in one of five instrument cases. A target value of the items in each case should be $100
to $200. The cases are:
Banjo Case Items related to picking the banjo. A hand woven banjo strap has been offered.
Could include strings, picks, cds, instruction books. Perhaps anunabridged collection of banjo jokes. Is there a banjo beer?
Guitar
Case Items of interest to guitar pickers. Again a hand woven guitar strap has been offered. Could include strings, picks,
books, capo ….. There is a guitar wine.
Mandolin Case Items for mandolin pickers. Perhaps a tuner would be good. Again
strings, picks, lessons, CD's, books. Another hand woven strap has been volunteered by a master weaver.
Fiddle Case Stuff
for fiddlers. Bows, strings, rosin, a lesson, instructional materials, electronic tuner,
CD's, DVD, a mute would be good,
Grinner’s
“Case” Everything for our grinner friends. Some meal gift certificates would be good.
Tickets are to be sold for
$5 each or 5 tickets for $20. People can buy tickets and decide how to distribute them among the different cases. The winners will
not have to be present to win. Attendance is expected to be approximately 1,000.
A donation would provide the following benefits to
you or your business
1. Your name or business name listed on signs displayed with the raffle items
2. A tax
deduction for the gift with receipt provided by the DBA
3. Your name and donation listed on the DBA website (
www.desertbluegrass.org)
4. A listing in the festival program
5. A listing in the DBA newsletter which goes out to about 200 members
