Eighth Annual Tucson Bluegrass Festival


The Desert Bluegrass Association will be presenting the 8th Annual Tucson Bluegrass Festival on October 27& 28, 2007. The Tohono O'odham Nation is hosting the festival at their Desert Diamond Casino. The festival is outdoors and will be staged in the beautiful plaza between the Casino and the Diamond Center. This spacious plaza features two rows of young trees, a fountain with running water and is decorated with a Native American motif.

The festival will feature top national, local and regional bluegrass bands with performances daily from 10am until 5:30pm.

Daily admission is $18. Weekend passes are $25. Children under 16 are free with a paying adult. Free camping is included in the price of admission. Desert Diamond will reserve part of their landscaped parking lot near the plaza for festival camping.

Friday and Saturday evenings will feature informal jam sessions with everyone invited to play and listen to bluegrass music. Music and Craft Vendors will be available throughout the festival and workshops on playing and singing bluegrass music will be held on Saturday and Sunday. There will be no food vendors at this years festival however plenty of great food is available. Desert Diamond Casino offers a variety of options for your dining enjoyment, from fine dining to casual snacks.

Camping

Is full hook-up camping available? No only "dry camping" is available
Is tent camping available? Yes. However since the camping is on a paved area, tents must be secured without using stakes.
Is camping really free? Yes
Will restrooms be available? Restrooms will be available 24 hours a day inside the casino and available during performances inside the Diamond Center (theater).
Can I build a campfire? No, campfires are not permitted.

Venue

How do I get to Desert Diamond Casino? Drive South on Interstate 19 from its intersection with Interstate 10 to Pima Mine Road (Exit 80). Turn left on Pima Mine Road. The Casino is immediately on your left.
Do I need to bring my own chair? Seating will be provided by Desert Diamond Casino however, if you have your own special lawnchair you are welcome to bring it.
Can I bring a cooler into the festival grounds? No coolers are allowed in the festival grounds.
Will food and beverage service be available?

Desert Diamond Casino offers a variety of options for your dining enjoyment, from fine dining to casual snacks including:

Are children permitted in the Casino? As always, the Tucson Bluegrass Festival is a family friendly event and we welcome and enjoy the children. Children are permitted in all areas of the Casino except the specific gambling areas. For example, they are welcome in all the dining areas and the restrooms.
Can I bring my dog (or cat, or bird) to the festival? No pets are permitted on the plaza festival grounds. Well-behaved pets are permitted in RVs in the camping area.
